A woman in South Africa says she has had enough of the constant abuse of her family.
She posted on Facebook that her husband had threatened to “kill me” and “rape me” after she refused to marry his brother.
“I have seen it all.
They have been coming at me with the same knives and knives.
They are not just threatening, they are raping me.
They said I will die in front of my children and my family.
It is not enough.
I have to do something.
I will fight them,” she wrote.
She says she is “not ready” to give up and that she will continue to fight to end the cycle of violence against women.
The woman says she was married in 2005 to her brother’s brother and now lives with her mother.
“It is the worst thing in the world.
The husband is threatening my children.
He is threatening me,” she said.”
We have been in a situation where we have been married for a long time and we are not married to him.
It does not mean he has to live with me.
It means that he is in charge of me.
So, my husband has threatened me.
He has threatened my children, he has threatened all of us.
And we have not given up.
And I am going to continue fighting,” she added.
The incident happened on the night of December 5 when she and her husband were on their way home from a night out at the nightclub.
Her husband was allegedly in the club at the time of the incident.
The man was arrested and later charged with raping her and was remanded in custody.
Her family then moved her to the town of KwaZulu-Natal to wait for a trial.
The family was shocked when the police said the man was released on bail.
“I was shocked and shocked,” the woman said.
“They told us to wait and then when we got there he was arrested again and again and it did not matter to us that he had been released.
They released him.
So we said let’s go to court.”
She says that while the man is now free, the family has to wait.
“If they do not release him then they are going to jail for 10 years,” she told Al Jazeera.
The police have not yet commented on the case.
