To setup a conference I would need a web server, right?
Would your solution work through firewalls?

It uses HTTP or HTTPS?

Thanks,
Peter

Hello Peter,

Q:
To setup a conference I would need a web server, right?

A:
The video conference room services are hosted on our servers, therefore no web server is required on customers side.

Q:
Would your solution work through firewalls?

A:
In 99% of cases, there's no firewall issue unless port 1935 (Adobe Flash) is blocked.

Q:
It uses HTTP or HTTPS?
A:
Currently HTTP, though we preparing HTTPS for future availability.

Thanks for your questions.

Hi John,

Thanks for your question, Whats the risk of passing a virus using this type of technology?

Applications such as web browsing, instant messaging (IM), Web-based email, web based video conferencing, chat rooms and peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing all have associated risks.

Firewalls and intrusion detection systems provide excellent protection against external attacks and mitigate viruses so long as users maintain anti virus software with the latest updates available.

Having used a similar system in the office lately, I would like to have something like this at home as well. Are there any issues I should be aware of if using on my mobile broadband in my home office?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

We've had customers reporting regular use with mobile broadband connections. Depending on your carrier, plan, network congestion etc will determine performance.

All the same, hard wired DSL is preferred method for any important video conference meetings.
