Customers and conference room attendees (users) can now access our video conferencing software diagnosis tool to determine or anticipate any issues.

The diagnosis tool will allow users to check internet speeds, audio and video streaming settings and more.

Advantages of the tool is obvious and will assist the user with any pre-meeting setting tweaks required computer side and just takes minutes to diagnose an issue.

Customers (conference room owners and attendees) will need to know the Room ID # to enable the diagnosis tester to function.

Some customers are experiencing connectivity issues right now, we’re working on this in conjunction with our upstream provider Time Warner.

As soon as we correct the issue, an update will be posted.

EDIT - All Services have been restored, still investigating exact reasons with Upstream provider though seems IP # were incorrectly assigned by provider. (Outage 90 mins)

Today software version v3.2.6 was released.

Main change Customer / User side is we have removed the “Handsfree” button,so now the Talk Now button works like “Handsfree” button.

This change will appear automatically the next time the conference room is started.

Customers access to the members area may experience a short interruption due to a change of IP number sometime within the next 24 hours as this resolves around the web.

However, No interruptions to the video conferencing services will result.

The members area allows conference room owners to make room setting changes, edits etc.

This maintenance was required to ensure security.

This article lists the most important new enhancements and feature updates for the latest Conference V3.2.5 for Pc Video Conference software.

First up, there have been 24 enhancements and feature changes on both the front end and back end. Customers and users will not need to do anything as the latest V3.2.5 version will automatically load the next time you start your video conferencing room.

Alright, lets go through the most important updates.

1/ The Security Box has been fully redeveloped for the login process, no more security requests at start of the conference room preloading sequence. Therefore the Adobe Webcam / Mic Permissions security box is only seen when the User selects the TALK NOW button.

The idea behind this change is to enable users to enter the conference room without having to allocate there webcam or microphone to the program via the Adobe player Allow / Deny security box.

In addition, the conference room sign in or log in has been modified to allow moderators to select Moderator and enter password to access the conference room. Alternatively, Unique individual Moderator URL links can be created in the members back-end under My Moderators section.

2/ 4X Module has been completely redeveloped, new options include audio only and audio+video streaming. The Audio only obviously works for Users with limited internet bandwidth speeds and computers or laptops with lower CPU processors.

**Note** The X4 Feature should be only used by Users with Headsets. Otherwise feedback from your computer or laptop speakers will cause screeching feedback.

3/ Added ability to play video files in the standard speaker mode.
**Note** YouTube videos can be played via the Video feature button - moderators only.

4/ Added sound notification for incoming/outgoing text chat messages (up to 25 users only). The default setting is on, to turn this off select Settings button in the top right hand side of your conference room.

5/ Added User Member list searching and sorting, ideal when conducting those larger meetings.

6/ Added Webcam image frames to use instead of your webcam. Select Settings button > Select Webcam > Choose the desired image.

7/ Video Playback - There are now two options:
Play Movie in Presentation Mode - (as per illustration)
Play Movie in Standard Mode

Now the items above are the main feature upgrades and many more enhancements have been done including new security protocols, enhancement of the internal web browser.

Moving away from this update, the DTS module (Desk Top Sharing)is in the final stages of a total redevelopment and will be available soon in the next software update.

Some Asian customers maybe experiencing some delay due to latency since the earth quack disaster in Japan, reports of sections of the Pacific Crossing undersea cabling system connecting Asia to U.S.appear to have been damaged.

Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 9 yesterday for Only Windows 7 and Vista. XP is not supported. We do not expect issues with this browser though we will run tests to ensure everything is a-okay.

Reminder - The customers EPS (Emergency pager system) located in the members settings back-end are for emergency situations only when conference rooms are down and no-one can enter or use the room. Fortunately I can count on one hand outages since 2004 and we will always post an known outage here on the blog. In all other cases, please use our helpdesk ticket system as in 99.9% of cases, issues are usually User side or network related.

DNS Issue Causing Outage

We are currently working on restoring services and apologize for this
interruption.

An unexpected last minute change of up stream carrier has been necessary due to AT&T blocking an IP range used by the data center for our conference rooms, mail servers etc.

What is DNS?

The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical naming system built on a distributed database for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network. Most importantly, it translates domain names meaningful to humans into the numerical identifiers associated with networking equipment for the purpose of locating and addressing these devices worldwide.

An often-used analogy to explain the Domain Name System is that it serves as the phone book for the Internet by translating human-friendly computer hostnames into IP addresses. For example, the domain name www.example.com translates to the addresses 192.0.32.10 (IPv4) and 2620:0:2d0:200::10 (IPv6).

The outage could last several hours as the DNS resolves
